Here is what he said in an email, dated 11/29/2022, about his new creation:

Got the title from Old Saint James, remember reading the passage decades ago and thinking “fossils!”, but now cannot find that passage, (!!!!!!).  Upon consulting the Wlki Dark Arts, found only references to giants mating with humans….  I am sure you will have something to say about that!  If you think this painting is meh, wait till you see the next one…dry spell in progress….

He has been threatening the “dry spell” for some time now but is still cranking out great stuff in my opinion.
